Ruthie the rabbit doll is crafted with a calm, inward presence, designed to settle naturally into a space rather than perform within it. She's dressed for the cool end of a Maine summer day — a soft yellow-green linen skirt, a white ruffled blouse, and a chunky alpaca knit cardigan pulled on after a swim in the ocean. The water still cold, the afternoon still warm, the towel drying on the dock. The clothing is intentionally unfussy, allowing the form and materials to lead. When seated or resting, the body gives easily to gravity, creating a relaxed, unposed posture.
